Broker loses shirt

SHED A TEAR with us this weekend for Ed Horton, the head of sales at KBC Peel Hunt, the stockbroker. Horton was taking part in a five- a-side football tournament for stockbrokers at a club in Wimbledon on Tuesday night, where he left his suit, shoes, shirt, tie and cufflinks in the changing rooms.

Horton wasn't too chipper when he returned from sweating on the field ed hardy clothing to find a blighter had pinched his favourite suit.

Alas, this wasn't the final whistle on Horton's hellish day. KBC had arranged a post-match feed at San Lorenzo in Knightsbridge. Waiters raised eyebrows when our hero wandered in sporting his steaming shorts, T-shirt and trainers.

"They let him sit at our table, although they did arrange for a large electric fan to be brought over,'' says another diner.

Two days later Horton was told that his downmarket suit had been returned, although the thief had kept Mbt Shoes his handmade shirt and modish tie. A more discerning class of tea leaf operates in SW19.
