Click, watch your car servicin

Four-wheeler owners in the city can now plan, monitor and track the servicing of their vehicles online.

Pune-headquartered KPIT Infosystems and DSK Motors on Monday announced their foray into an online servicing portal which would enable car owners avail of the complete information pertaining to servicing of their Replica watches cars at the click of a mouse. This also marks KPIT's foray into bringing technological developments directly to customers.

The companies have come together to form a joint venture (JV) company which on Monday launched its portal - a unique one-stop destination to avail of all details on servicing of four-wheelers. The company claimed that this is the first-of-its-kind servicing portal globally.

"There has been a paradigm shift in the automobile industry at present. More and more OEMs are looking at cost-effective solutions, be it in the developing stage or at the service stage. This is the first time that we are bringing our technological expertise for the direct benefit of the end-customers," said chairman KPIT Cummins Infosytems Ravi Pandit.

While the content portion of the website has been created by DSK, the technology part had been developed by KPIT.

Executive director of DSK Motors Jitendra Mali said, "All one has to do is get registered on the website. Depending on the car model, he will get a complete list of service stations in the country. The software would then allow the customer to view his or her car online and see the break-up of parts and labour costs and also view the car being serviced."

Once registered, one can get the estimated cost for servicing and delivery time online. The portal would also update with every progress on the service via SMS. Easy payment and online billing has also been made possible. There is also a provision to help one determine whether to put in Replica watches a claim for insurance and also what are the necessary steps to be followed. "Which part comes under insurance cover and what would be the approximate amount of insurance have all been detailed," added Mali. The company has plans to introduce the service for two-wheelers.

"If anyone wants to understand why a particular work is been conducted on the car, that query will be answered by the software," added Mali. "We have already written to OEMs and dealers all over to avail this service. The cost of registration is between Rs50,000 to Rs1,50,000 and then they would be charged as per transactions," said Mali.
